Words For Wednesday: Why Worry?

I love this quote by Walt Disney.

“Why worry? If you’ve done the very best you can, worrying won’t make it any better.”

This is something I should be reminding myself of daily, as I pretty much never stop worrying about every little thing imaginable! Having constant anxiety over everything is pretty awful.

Mostly, I feel like the moment I STOP worrying about something is the moment I’ll get judged for not caring enough, which is seldom true. Still, can’t help that guilty feeling from creeping in all the time. 13 years of Catholic schooling at it’s finest!

I will definitely work on worrying less, and could use some suggestions on what you do to calm your nerves! Meditate? Read? Drink? 😉 Share below!

  1. I love this quote, Katie! I worry all the time. Way more than I should.

  2. Worrying kills. Literally! Your heart won’t appreciate you worrying. As soon as I realized that, I stopped worrying about anything at all; and caring about being judged for not worrying.

  3. Me too! I’m a perfectionist, so I worry about every little bit! What usually calms me down is a deep breath. It’s surprisingly simple, but it honestly does the trick. When I feel myself getting too overwhelmed, I close my eyes and take a deep breath in and then a deep breath out.

  4. I am a total worry wart, and will have to remember Walt’s quote. The one I usually tell myself is from a Tom Petty song, “Most things I worry about, never happy anyway”
