It’s finally here! My recap post with a TON of photos from the 2016 Philly Flower Show! We went on March 7th, so I know I’m a little late- thanks for being so patient. 🙂 The theme this year was “Explore America” and was honoring 100 Years of the National Parks Service. Check out all the photos I took below!
The Flower Show is my favorite annual date with the Husband. We’ve gone every year since we met, so this was the 7th one we attended! The theme this year was probably my least favorite so far, as most of the floral displays were indicative of National Parks that lack in colorful flora and center around trees and underbrush with greens and browns. The displays themselves were put together well, but I prefer things overflowing with colorful flowers. It was still a very nice day, and I did manage to take some great photos!
First up was the Butterfly Experience! I had a few friends land on me, while Husband had even more! They were really digging his shirt.
I was afraid to move at all with this guy sitting right above my purse! Then this pretty girl landed on my arm too, so I was trapped! Trapped by butterflies isn’t such a bad thing.
After visiting with the butterflies, we headed into the main showroom to check out all the exhibits.
One display had a chalkboard to write on, so of course I added our initials!
Love the Autumn color theme in this display!
It is quite hard to tell from these photos, but this is the ceiling in a little enclosure in one of the exhibits. It was so pretty in person!
This next exhibit wasn’t skinny and weird at the top like the photo shows- it was all the same width. That’s just the pano doing it’s weird thing!
I really enjoyed the window displays. It makes me want to redo my front window!
I also wish I could have a front porch like some of these amazing displays!
I tried to take photos of all the mini dioramas, but the glare on the glass was horrible. At least I was able to snap a few, including one depicting an apparent nude beach! Hah!
I always enjoy the pressed flower artworks! They are so creative and pretty.
And let’s not forget this one by an elementary school student!
That’s it for my photos of the Philadelphia Flower Show! I hope you enjoyed them. I will be sure to post again next year!
Which photo was your favorite? Did you attend the show this year?
What an awesome show! You are so lucky that your husband keeps coming back there! No way my hubby would go to a flower show for 7 years in a row! I’ve finally managed to get him to go to our botanical garden yeserday, and only because another place where we were going to visit was closed!
Such great photos Katie!! Those butterflies are so pretty!
