Yesterday I shared a photo from my trip to Longwood Gardens last week. Husband and I took the day off to make the trip and check out the Christmas light displays before they were gone. Plus, I try to do something special every year on what would be Mom’s birthday, so this was the perfect thing!
We spent the whole day there, wandering around, grabbing lunch, listening to the organ play Christmas music and checking out all the lights once they were lit up! We walked around the entire grounds, stopping here or there to have some of the hot tea we packed to warm up. Later when it was dark, we walked the entire grounds again to see everything sparkly and bright. Here are a ton of photos from our long but wonderful day!
Risk taker Geese slowly skidded to the edge of the ice for a cold drink.
After a few hours outside in the cold, we were glad to reach the Conservatory! It meant we could spend a couple hours warmed up and look at pretty indoor displays! This is also where the organ room is, so we were able to listen to some beautiful Christmas music!
Every nook had a differently colored and decorated tree. It was lovely!
Here’s a little video of the fountain in the middle!
Love the orchid room!
Different grades from schools in the area were able to decorate a room full of trees using a blue and white theme! They were really adorable!! Here are all the trees I saw, and a couple close ups of handmade ornaments too!
How pretty are these spray roses?!
Many plants and trees had glass and crystal ornaments that looked like icicles. So classy!
This tree by the lake was decorated by the staff. It’s ornaments are made from items found on the property!
We loved the fire pit made out of an old steel drum. Check out a video of the flames licking the sides below!
Well, that’s my day/night at Longwood Gardens! I hope you enjoyed all my photos from our wonderful trip. Now that I have checked it out in the Summer and the Winter, I want to also see it in the Spring and Fall! Stay tuned for future visits. 🙂
