Mother’s Day is a tough day for me, having lost mine 3 and a half years ago to brain cancer (learn more about my mom here.) I’m glad, though, that it falls when it does. May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month!
Learn more about brain tumors and find ways to take action at the National Brain Tumor Society’s website.
You can also join my Race For Hope Philly Team (aptly named Give Kathy Hope, after mom) and be a walker/runner, virtual walker, volunteer, or you can donate! The race this year is Sunday, October 2, 2016 at The Navy Yard, Marine Parade Grounds in Philadelphia, PA.
We can’t believe it’s the 7th Race For Hope we’ll be participating in!! She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten!
I’ll be using the hashtag #BTAM for the rest of May to help spread the word! Don’t forget to do the same!
Are you participating in any of the Races For Hope across the US? Tell me about them in the comments!
Brain tumors scare me the most. I’m so sorry about your mom. 🙁
That’s awesome Katie, you’re supporting a great cause! Thanks for sharing, I’ll need to look into this more.
