A few weeks ago, Husband and I spent a weekend in Manhattan so we could attend the 10th Anniversary New York Comic Con! It’s become a bit of a tradition for us, and we make it out every year. Even the year we were getting married just 2 weeks later! This year was lots of fun although wayyyy more packed than the Fridays usually are. Check out some photos from the event below!
We AirBNB’d the night before so we could get up early and get breakfast before the convention began. We originally only planned on staying the day before NYCC but when we left it was POURING and we were completely soaked and tired and starving. We knew a three hour train ride home in those conditions would lead to ruining the really great day, so we searched for a cheap last minute hotel room and spent another night! That meant the next day we could spend sitting in Central Park, which is one of my favorite things to do when I visit the city. First up, there’s lots of pics of Comic Con, and then some random pretty NYC pics to follow!
Matching shirts meant we could find each other quicker if we got separated- which happened several times in the crowd!‘Pretty Little Liars’ (my favoritest guilty pleasure show) and ‘Stitchers’ had a big old showroom tent along with panels. I would have loved to have heard some of the actors but the line to wait was incredibly long and I was getting woozy from heat already!
Creepy Krampus Christmas stuff!
These artworks were made entirely out of Jelly Belly jelly beans!! It was really cool to watch her make one!
That was my day at NYCC! Now for some pics from the next day…
We left our hotel in Times Square and walked right into a big street fair, where of course I had to buy some jewelry.
We had lunch and then grabbed coffees to head to Central Park. We walked around in the gorgeous weather and sat by the lake and read for a long time. It was such a beautiful day, made even better by the fact that it was an unexpected addition to our planned one-night-only trip.
It was a lovely weekend and I really didn’t want to go home!
Have you ever been to New York Comic Con? What is your favorite part?
What a fun event!
No, I have never been to New-York yet, that is unfortunate )
