We harvested our first little red tomato of the season! After the very hungry caterpillar ate a large portion of our tomato plant last week, we were unsure anything was going to survive on it, but this little cherry tomato proved us wrong.
We picked him, brought him inside to let him finish ripening, and then Husband ate him in one fell swoop. He didn’t stand a chance.
With all the rain today (it’s seriously gross outside!) I’m hoping a few more little tomatoes join the party. Our first cucumber is almost ready to pick, too! And there are teeny adorable jalapenos dangling from the pepper plant. Yay! All these veggies were grown from tiny seeds so it’s extra satisfying to see them turn into edibles. Can’t wait for our next “harvest!” 😉
What did you plant in your garden this year?
Congratulations on your first tomato! (this reminds me that I am probably too late to get a tomato plant this year…)
Congratulations! We planted tomatoes for the first time in years, but unfortunately, they’ve been infected with the zombie virus and turned white.
