Hurray!! Today is Katie Crafts’ 6 month anniversary! While it’s true Katie Crafts’ Etsy store has been around quite some time, today marks the half-year celebration of the blog’s birth. Origami with The Husband: Fortune Teller
Project: Origami Fortune Teller Tutorial
Hey guys– since it’s Thursday, I wanted to do a throwback of sorts! I’m not sure how many of you remember these little guys, but Origami Fortune Tellers were ALL over school when I was a kid. There is even one featured in the intro to the show, Community (bonus points if you knew that already). If you’ve ever wanted to make your own, now’s the time to learn and I’ll be more than happy to share my secrets! Continue reading Origami with The Husband: Fortune Teller
How To Turn Your T-Shirt In To A Pillow
Project: How To Turn Your T-Shirt In To A Pillow
The other day, I caught the Husband trying to throw out an old t-shirt of his. It got a small bleach stain on it which is pretty much the end of an article of clothing. Still, I rescued it from garbage can heaven and gave it two new reasons to live! Half the shirt I used to make t-shirt yarn, while the other half was used to make a pillow! My sister also loves the same silly anime things that Husband does (sorry, I just don’t see the appeal!), so I knew she’d love this pillow for her bed. It was very easy and I’m thinking of making a few pillows for my bed now too, using shrunken Woot tees and old band shirts! Continue reading How To Turn Your T-Shirt In To A Pillow

My Etsy Picks: Back to School Guide
Hello, Monday! If you are an avid Katie Crafts reader, you may have noticed that there was no Sunday Funday post yesterday. I love having daily things to share with you guys, but with all the other obligations in my life, and with the beautiful summer days coming to an end soon, I need my weekends to myself! Don’t fret, though! You’ll still see me Monday through Friday, with great posts like the one I have for today: an Etsy Back to School Guide that you will certainly love! Today’s project is a very simple sewing one, perfect for a beginner! If you’ve done any of my other projects successfully, you can certainly pull this one off with ease. It would make an adorable gift for a mommy-to-be for her future little one as a play mat to play on or a tiny blankie to cuddle with! The different sized and textured tags will keep baby stimulated and occupied. Plus it’s adorable! Continue reading DIY Baby Play Mat
